OCT 31: Montreal, Quebec: Day 2 of 2

I'm not much into the whole barista thing, but this could make me a believer.
After sleeping in and having coffee in the room, we went down for a pleasant breakfast, beginning with a great cup of cappuccino in the atrium.
Although the temperature was the same, the sky was blue, and the sun was out, so we walked around Old Montreal.
We took a circuitous route to our first destination, the museum of archaeology and history.

The museum is called Pointe-à-Callière.
The introduction to the museum featured a great multimedia presentation.

We next descended to galleries below street level to see a wide variety of exhibits, each well-done and some with considerable imagination.

Leaving the museum, we walked along the waterfront.

The geodesic dome in the background housed the USA exhibition at the 1967 World's Fair

We decided not to ride the Ferris wheel partly because it was relatively small compared to the others we have been on.
We went inside the Chapel de Bon Secours (Safe Harbor), where sailors who had been saved from perils on the river or at sea carved ship models in gratitude for being saved.

We walked past l'hôtel de Ville (city hall) and a statue of Lord Nelson, keeping an eye on it.

By the end of our walk, we had seen almost all the sites indicated on our map of Old Montreal and places that just piqued our curiosity. We had covered over four miles. On our next visit to Montreal, there will be other sites we would like to see, including the Biosphere and going inside Chateau Ramezay, but we were satisfied with what we had seen of the city.

Although we had the restaurant almost to ourselves, we enjoyed our meal at Le Butterfly. Pam particularly liked the way her salmon was prepared.
Walking back to the hotel, we noticed that other restaurants also had few patrons along the way.  Either Tuesday nights are slow, or Halloween events draw people away.

Tomorrow, we will be traveling back to Quebec City by train.
